The Canadian Firearms Safety Course is a training program designed to teach people how to safely handle firearms. It is offered in two parts: Non-Restricted and Restricted courses.
Non-Restricted Course
Schedule: Offered on Saturdays.
Purpose: For those who want to own and use non-restricted firearms, such as rifles and shotguns.
What You’ll Learn:
Firearm safety rules.
Proper storage and transportation of firearms.
Correct usage and handling techniques.
Restricted Course
Schedule: Offered on Sundays.
Purpose: For those who want to own and use restricted firearms, such as handguns.
What You’ll Learn:
Topics covered in the Non-Restricted Course.
Additional regulations and safety measures specific to restricted firearms.

Both the Non-Restricted and Restricted courses include:
Classroom Instruction: Covers the theoretical aspects of firearm safety.
Hands-On Training: Provides practical experience in handling firearms.
At the end of each course, you’ll need to pass a written and practical exam to demonstrate your knowledge and competency.

Completing the Canadian Firearms Safety Course is a mandatory step to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL), which is required to legally own and purchase firearms in Canada.
