Why is it important to take the CFSC?
The CFSC is required by law for anyone who wants to obtain a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for firearms in Canada. Even if you don't plan on owning a firearm, the CFSC provides valuable knowledge and skills for safe firearms handling.

What topics are covered in the CFSC?
The CFSC covers a range of topics, including safe handling, storage, transport, and display of firearms, types of firearms and ammunition, firearms laws and regulations, and shooting techniques.

Can I obtain a firearms license by successfully completing the Canadian Firearms Safety Course?
Yes, passing the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is one of the requirements for obtaining a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for firearms in Canada.
However, passing the CFSC does not automatically grant you a PAL. You will also need to meet other requirements, such as passing a background check. Once you have met all the requirements and your application has been approved, you will receive a PAL, which allows you to legally own and acquire firearms in Canada.

What is the minimum age requirement to take the PAL(R)?
The Minor's license is available to individuals as young as 12 years old, but individuals under the age of 18 must have written consent from their parent or legal guardian.

If my PAL expires, do I need to take the course again?
If your PAL has been expired for more than one year, you will need to retake the CFSC and pass the exam again in order to apply for a new PAL.
